HH Shaikh Nasser hails Cordoba’s return to Primera RFEF

His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, hailed the recent promotion of Cordoba Football Club to the Third Division (Trecera Division) of the Spanish League.

The promotion came after the Club achieved two remarkable accomplishments for the first time in its history; winning the Spanish FA Cup and the promotion to Primera Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that the promotion came as a logical result of the Club’s Board of Directors joining together in a one-team spirit with members of the technical and administrative staff, and providing the ideal environment for the players to appear in the distinguished technical image that ensured the team to be promoted and obtain the title of the Spanish League Segunda RFEF.

“Cordoba Club proved that it is worthy of returning to Primera RFEF after a long work that culminated in this achievement. We appreciate the efforts exerted by the technical and administrative staff of the team and its tireless work, in addition to the efforts of the players who showed outstanding levels throughout the league, contributing to the team’s remarkable performance that resulted in this outstanding achievement,” HH Shaikh Nasser said.

His Highness added: “The team’s presence in the Primera RFEF League will contribute to shedding more light on the Kingdom of Bahrain and its achievements in various fields, including sports.” The promotion of Cordoba to Primera RFEF came after its victory over Merida with a score of 1 - NIL in Week 30 of the league, raising its score to 72 points at the top of the standings, with four games to spare, 15 points ahead of the second-placed team.
