Al Nasser and Dar Kulaib are set to meet tonight in the final of the 2021/2022 Bahrain Crown Prince’s Volleyball Cup.
The match is scheduled for a 9.30pm start and it will be held at the Isa bin Rashid Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Nasser claimed their place in the title contest after defeating Al Najma in four sets in the semi-finals. They had previously edged past Muharraq in a five-set thriller during the knockout tournament’s preliminary stage.
Dar Kulaib, on the other hand, ousted two-time defending cup holders Al Ahli in the semis, also in four sets. Earlier, they had won against A’Ali in a three-set sweep. Nasser are set to rely heavily on their top players including Bulgarian import Venelin Kadankov, along with local talents Hussain Al Jishi, Mohammed Omar, Ali Sultan, Jassim Turki and libero Yousef Abdulghaffar.
Dar Kulaib will be spearheaded by the likes of Mahmoud Hassan, Ali Ebrahim and Mohammed Yaqoob, as well as Czech professional Petr Sulista. Both sides are among the podium-placers from this season’s Isa bin Rashid Bahrain First Division Volleyball League.
Nasser finished as the league’s silver-medallists after losing to Ahli in the finals series in two games, while Dar Kulaib came away with the league’s bronze medals after beating Najma in five sets.
