Dar Kulaib were last night crowned champions of the 2021/2022 Crown Prince’s Volleyball Cup. Dar Kulaib captured the title after defeating Al Nasser 3-1 (25- 20, 27-25, 26-28, 25-18) in the final, played at a packed Isa bin Rashid Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

With the result, Dar Kulaib won the coveted trophy for the third straight season. It was also their fourth Crown Prince’s Volleyball Cup triumph overall in the knockout competition’s history. Following last night’s match, the two finalists were awarded their respective trophies and medals in a ceremony attended by Bahrain Volleyball Association president Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa along with General Sports Authority CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar. Aside from winning the coveted trophy, Dar Kulaib also claimed their second accolades of the national volleyball season, having taken the bronze in the Isa bin Rashid Bahrain First Division Volleyball League.

Dar Kulaib kicked off last night’s final in impressive fashion, taking the first two sets and quickly moving on the verge of a sweep of the match. But Nasser were able to extend the contest after narrowly eking out the third set. It was a see-saw battle towards the end of that frame, with neither team able to gain the two-point advantage until Nasser broke a 26-all deadlock.
