Al Najma crowned Bahrain handball cup champions

Al Najma have been crowned champions of this year’s Bahrain Handball Association (BHA) Cup. The victors claimed the title following a narrow 26-25 victory over Al Ahli in the tournament final, played at the BHA Arena in Um Al Hassam.
The match was attended by BHA president Ali Isa and Saudi Arabian handball chief Fadel Al Namr, among other officials. They presented the trophies and medals in the post-game awards ceremony. Mahdi Saad and Ali Eid were the joint-top scorers for Najma in the contest, scoring six goals apiece.
Najma needed to battle back from a slim 11-12 deficit at the half en route to claiming the crown. The result earned them a fantastic league-and-cup double after also winning the Khalid bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League title. Their cup triumph also capped a sensational. 2021/2022 season in which they finished both national competitions with an undefeated record.
