Sitra secure final berth for next season’s premier league

Sitra secured the final berth last night for the 2022/2023 season of the Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Sitra claimed the 12th and last place after defeating Al Malkiya 1-0 in their last game of a mini-playoff tournament organised by the Bahrain Football Association.
Sitra join Hidd and Budaiya as qualifiers from the competition. Malkiya lost out on a berth and will return to play in the second division. Senegalese professional Seydina Laye Dabo scored the lone goal for Sitra in last night’s match.
Dabo fired in from close range with a header off a corner kick on the stroke of halftime. It was enough to give them the all-important three points on the four-team standings.
They finished with five markers with one win and two draws in the mini-playoffs. Malkiya stayed last on the table with a winless record in their three games.
