His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, is set to participate in the 120 km and 160 km races in the Samorin International Endurance Championship in Slovakia, following his achievement in 2016, when His Highness won third place in the World Endurance Championship held in the same venue.

Back then, HH Shaikh Nasser was crowned third place winner, in the World Championship that witnessed the participation of more than 140 riders from different countries of the world. The accomplishment was unique as His Highness was crowned in the presence of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, who attended the Championship.

This year, the Royal Endurance Team relies on the skills and capabilities of HH Shaikh Nasser in continuing to lead the Team in European championships, where His Highness’s leadership will certainly be a major factor to reach the podium in the 120 and 160 km races in the Samorin International Championship.

The leadership of His Highness of the Royal Team constitutes a great motivation for the riders, as His Highness’s guidance has always been an incentive for the Team to gain more experience and increase their technical capabilities in the sport of endurance.

This was reflected in the positive results achieved by the Team in several European championships in the last period, including HH Shaikh Nasser’s recent victory in the Montalcino International Endurance Championship in Italy, in addition to the Team’s dominance in the 120 km race, with the rider Mohammed Abdulsamad winning first place, and his partner Yousef Al Jubouri winning in second place, while the third place went to Khalifa Al Sindi.

On this occasion, Dr Khalid Ahmed Hassan, Royal Endurance Team Director, asserted that HH Shaikh Nasser’s leadership of the Team is a motivation to the riders to achieve the best results, gain experience and realise the desired goals of their participation in the Samorin International Championship.

“His Highness’s leadership of the Team will certainly have a positive impact on everyone, as His Highness is an inspiration to all the riders. We are pursuing several goals through this participation, and we hope to achieve them, and there is no doubt that all the Royal Team’s participations aim to be crowned on podiums.

We have great confidence in the Team’s abilities to achieve positive results and make full use of this participation before the next World Championship,” Dr Hassan commented. The Royal Endurance Team is continuing its preparations before participating in the Championship through a series of continuous exercises led by the technical staff, while the Samorin International Endurance Championship Village will witness today (Friday) the veterinary examination of the 120 km race, which will kickstart on Saturday.
