Bahraini-British racing team 2 Seas Motorsport claimed an impressive second-place podium yesterday in the seventh race of the Intelligent Money British GT Championship 2022, held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
The duo of James Cottingham and Lewis Williamson finished 5.236 seconds behind the winners after a tight battle over the two-hour event, which marked the only meeting of the season to be held outside of the UK. Cottingham and Williamson shared the duties behind the wheel of 2 Seas’ #4 Mercedes AMG-GT3 car.
Prior to the start, 2 Seas were promoted to a front row grid position in second after they had qualified third on Saturday. They made the most of this and battled hard for the race win, leading briefly at certain points of the drive.
Taking the chequered flag for the win ahead of 2 Seas were Fox Motorsport’s Nick Halstead and Jamie Stanley in a McLaren 720S GT3, while completing the podium places in third were RAM Racing’s Ian Loggie and Jules Gounon, also driving a Mercedes AMG-GT3 challenger. They were 12.856s behind the victors. To add to their final overall classification, 2 Seas also placed second in the Pro-Am category.
