Olympic team defeat Oman in Turkey camp friendly

Bahrain’s under-23 Olympic football team defeated their Omani counterparts 1-0 in a friendly match played on Wednesday at their overseas training camp in Turkey. Ammar Mirza scored the game’s lone goal.

It was the Bahrainis’ second successive victory over Oman in an exhibition contest at their camp. They had previously also won 3-2 in an earlier meeting, which followed a 9-1 demolition of a local club side in their opening friendly.

The Olympic team, coached by Croatian Dario Basic, have two more warm-up matches to play at their camp next week prior to its conclusion on August 6. Mirza is part of a 26-player squad currently in Turkey.

The others are Khalifa Al Kous, Ahmed Rabia, Omar Saber, Nasser Ibrahim, Sayed Mahdi Sharaf, Hussain Abdulkarim, Sayed Jawad Haider, Salem Hussain, Ahmed Musalam, Ali Mohammed, Hussain Haroona, Adel Al Rumaihi, Mustafa Salem, Saleh Al Zubaidi, Mohammed Faris, Bashir Fouad, Vincent Emmanuel, Hassan Issa, Ahmed Abdulhameed, Hussain Al Ekri, Hassan Abdulnabi, Abdulrahman Al Kooheji, Hassan Taha, Salman Adel and Khalil Ibrahim.

The nationals are using the camp to prepare for their upcoming competitions.
