Bahrain praised for excellence in hosting Asian U20 volleyball

The head of the control committee in the 21st Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship, Emile Jabbour, confirmed Bahrain’s excellence in the organisation of the prestigious continental event, which came to a close tonight at the Bahrain Volleyball Association’s (BVA) Isa bin Rashid Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Jabbour presented BVA secretary general Feras Al Helwachi with the official tournament report from the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) during a meeting with the Press. Jabbour said that the BVA provided all the facilities required by the AVC and the participating national teams to have a smooth and successful running of the competition.
He thanked Bahrain for the exceptional hospitality shown to all those involved. For his part, Al Helwachi, who is also the executive director of the championship, expressed his sincerest appreciation to the AVC for the confidence they have given Bahrain to put together such a major 17-nation event.
He thanked all the members of the control committee and Bahrain’s working committees for their tremendous efforts throughout the tournament, which contributed to an outstanding event. This year ’s competition marked the third time the Kingdom has hosted the AVC’s showcase tournament for under-20 national teams.
Also present at the presentation of the report were BVA vice-president Mohammed Al Thawadi and the championship’s director Habib Mohammed.
