Bahraini-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport will return to action over the upcoming weekend with a two-car entry in the next round of the Intelligent Money British GT Championship 2022, to be held at Brands Hatch.

2 Seas will combine with Sky Tempesta Racing for a second time this season, having successfully raced together at the opening round and scored a podium finish.

The team will be welcoming back Chris Froggatt and two-time champion Andrew Howard in the #93 Mercedes-AMG GT3. They will be joining the team’s regular Pro-Am pairing of Lewis Williamson and James Cottingham.

2 Seas co-owner His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said: “It is great to be back working with Sky Tempesta Racing, and to have Chris back for a second event of the year. “I am also really pleased to welcome double champion Andrew to the team for the Brands Hatch weekend.

He has a fantastic track record in the series, scoring multiple wins, podiums and pole positions over the past few seasons. “It will also be a great learning opportunity for him to trial a third different GT3 car as he experiences the Mercedes-AMG for the first time.

“Chris made a great start to his British GT campaign with us earlier this year, scoring our first podium and, alongside his other European commitments, he continues to get stronger in the Mercedes with each race.

“Together with James and Lewis, both entries will be pushing for a strong result.” The upcoming meeting will be the penultimate round of the British GT season. In the previous event held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, 2 Seas claimed an impressive second-place podium yesterday in the seventh race of the campaign.

HH Shaikh Isa said about their Spa success: “It was another strong weekend for James, Lewis, and the whole 2 Seas Motorsport team.

“We are working hard to improve and gain performance with every session, and we have, again, proved that we have the pace to battle at the front of the field.

“We were fighting hard for pole position, and race pace over the two hours was extremely good. Another great opening stint by James to get his elbows out and move up the order, and a strong attacking drive while also absorbing all the pressure that the cars behind could throw at him.

“Lewis, once again, delivered a faultless drive and kept pushing all the way to the flag, and it is a great feeling to be leaving our debut race at Spa with another trophy. We will keep working, and build on this momentum for the final run in of the season now.”
