Omar Hamza wins under-23 category in Spain triathlon race

Bahraini triathlete Omar Hamza clinched an impressive victory in the men’s under-23 category at the Mediterranea Tri Valencia event in Spain. The high-level race featured a 1.5-kilometre swim, a 40km cycle and a 10km run. Omar finished in first place after completing the total distance in two hours four minutes 11 seconds.
He posted a time of 20 minutes 59 seconds in the swim, 1:08:44 in the cycle and 34:28 in his run. Finishing over three minutes behind Omar was Pablo Gomez Navarro as runner-up in a time of 2:07:42, while Xavi Follow Selfa took the other podium place five seconds behind in 2:07:47. Omar, a member of Bahrain’s national triathlon team, competed in the event as part of his preparations for upcoming races, including the 2022 World Triathlon Age-Group Championships in Abu Dhabi this November.
