Bahraini teenager Faris Al Toobli won an impressive second place in the Boys Born 2006 category of the Georgia Cup by Ten-Pro Global Junior Tour 2022, which concluded recently in Tbilisi.

Faris came close to securing the title but lost in a hard fought final against local player Nikolozi Khositashvili 2-6, 5-7.

Earlier in the competition’s group stage, Faris won two of his three matches. He first defeated Nikita Vorobov of Kazakhstan 7-5, 6-0, but then lost to Khositashvili 1-6, 1-6. He closed out the round with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph against Aleksandr Denisov, also of Kazakhstan, to finish second amongst the four boys in the final group standings.

That eventually earned Faris a rematch against Khositashvili for the title. Bahrain Tennis Federation president Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Khalifa congratulated Faris for his achievement.

Shaikh Abdulaziz also praised Faris for his efforts to develop his technical and physical levels through his training and dedication. The Ten-Pro Global Junior Tour is a series of 14 international youth tournaments in Europe, the US and Australia.
