Shabab, Dair win in handball league

Al Shabab and Al Dair were both victorious last night as the second week of action resumed in the 2022/2023 Khalid bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League. Shabab outclassed Tubli 36-21, while Al Dair defeated Tadhamon 37-27. Both games were played at the Bahrain Handball Association Arena in Um Al Hassam. In Shabab’s win, they had a commanding 18-8 lead at the half and then scored the first seven goals after the break to further extend their advantage. They never looked back from there as they securedtheir sec- ond successive victory to begin the new season. Tubli lost their second game in as many tries. In last night’s other game, Dair led 16-10 at the half and finished strong.
It was the first game of Dair in the new campaign after having a bye in week one. For Tadhamon, they dropped to a 0-2 win-loss record. League action continues tonight with Al Ettifaq taking on Bahrain Club at 5.30pm, followed at 7.15pm by Al Ettihad playing Samaheej. Week two concludes tomorrow with a mammoth clash between defending champions Al Najma and Barbar at 7pm.
