Shaikha Hayat visits weightlifting training ahead of Asian championship

Bahrain Olympic Committee member and Bahrain Table Tennis Association (BTTA) president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa visited the national weightlifting team training ahead of the 2022 Asian Weightlifting Championships, to be held in Bahrain from October 6 to 16.
The national weightlifting team is running a training camp at the BTTA premises in preparation for the event. This 10-day meet is being held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority president and Bahrain Olympic Committee chief His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and is organised by the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation (BWF) under the supervision of the Asian Weightlifting Federation.
It will take place at Crowne Plaza Hotel. During her visit to the team training, Shaikha Hayat was joined by BWF president Eshaq Ibrahim Eshaq, and members of the federation and the organising committee of the championships.
Shaikha Hayat said that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting the Asian championship embodies the great support of the wise leadership and the esteemed government in making Bahrain a sporting icon.
Shaikha Hayat noted that the Kingdom’s approach to sports is under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and HH Shaikh Khalid.
Shaikha Hayat also explained that bringing this prominent event to the country constitutes an important turning point in recording a new success for the Kingdom, and is in line with the vision of HH Shaikh Khalid in promoting sports tourism.
She added: “We are very confident in the capabilities of the national weightlifting team to achieve positive results. “I am also all praise for the efforts of the federation in providing the means of support for all players, as this contributes to achieving the best results.
“We were pleased to witness the women’s team’s recent achievements. It is unique, especially for Zainab Ali, who has high potentials that contributed to her appearance in the past tournaments with several achievements recorded, wishing the team continued success.”
On his part, Eshaq praised the prominent role of Shaikha Hayat and the cooperation of the BTTA, which contribute to achieving various goals. He praised Shaikha Hayat’s directives to the athletes during her visit, which left a positive spirit among all of the national team members.
