A 37-car entry list for the highly anticipated Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain was announced yesterday by the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
With five rounds completed and the season-finale to go at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) on November 11 and 12, the first glimpse of the entry list features five cars apiece in the Hypercar and Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance (LMGTE) Pro classes, 13 in the LMGTE Am category and 14 in Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2).
Changes from last weekend’s 6 Hours of Fuji in Japan include the return of the ARC Bratislava squad, with Miroslav Konopka in action, joined by two as yet unnamed drivers.
With no DTM clash, Rene Rast returns at WRT in the #31 Oreca07 - Gibson and at Vector Sport Nico Müller is back in the #10 car.
In LMGTE Pro, Nick Tandy takes to the # #64 Corvette Racing Chevrolet Corvette C8.R. In Bahrain, the Hypercar class remains bereft of the Glickenhaus, meaning the competition is with two Toyotas and two Peugeots facing the Alpine.
The LMGTE will see Porsche versus Ferrari two-on-two, with the solitary Corvette. Both LMP2 and LMGTE Am are as Fuji.
