Al Fateh and Isa Town Schools off to great start

Isa Town Secondary School and Al Fateh Secondary School were off to a great start in Nasser bin Hamad Football Tournament for Secondary Schools, defeating Al Hekma International School 8-1 and Britus International School 6-1 respectively.

Organised by the Ministry of Education, the event is sponsored by the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) and the Bahrain Cinema Company (CINECO).

Isa Town Secondary School and Al Hekma International School played their game at A’ali Club’s football field, and it took the winners only 15 minutes from the kick-off whistle to take the lead thanks to Musaab Abdullah’s well-taken penalty kick.

As their opponents’ fitness level was significantly dropping, Abdullah Ibrahim doubled Isa Town Secondary School’s lead in the 35th minute as both teams headed into the halftime break with the result being 2-0 in the eventual victors’ favour.

Rashid Al Basri starred for the winners in the second half, scoring a hat-trick, while his teammates Abdullah Ibrahim, Ammar Al Basri and Yasser Mohammed scored one each to complete the rout.

Meanwhile, Saif Ahmed scored Al Hekma’s consolation goal. Rashid Al Basri was named the best player in the game.

Al Fateh Secondary School proved their impressive teamwork by having six different players on the scoresheet to breeze past their opponents Britus International School with a comfortable 6-1 win in their match which took place at Isa Town Club’s football field.

Ahmed Al Dooseri, Ali Sa’ad, Mohammed Fadel, Talal Abdulaziz, Mushari Abdulaziz, and Nasser Awad scored for Al Fateh.

Britus International School’s goal was scored by Hussain Nader. Ahmed Al Dooseri was given the best player award after the end of the match.
