Bahrain swimmers shine in swimming world cup

Bahrain’s national swimming team set a pair of new national records on the first day of the FINA Swimming World Cup 2022, being held in Berlin.
Omar Al Rowaila and Saud Salah set new Bahraini marks in their respective events.
Competing in the 100 metres individual medley, Al Rowaila posted a new national record of 59.39 seconds.
Salah did the same, clocking a time of one minute 04.23 seconds in the 100m breaststroke.
The new records were confirmed by the Bahrain Swimming Association.
Meanwhile, Salah also set a new personal best, as did Fatima Almahmeed and Sanad Abdulla.
Salah had a time of 59.75s in the 100m individual medley to register his new personal best.
Fatima and Abdulla had their new individual records in two events.
Fatima set a time of 32.42s in the 50m backstroke and 28.22s in the 50m freestyle.
Abdulla, on the other hand, had a personal best of 1:00.57 in the 100m individual medley as well as 24.18s in the 50m freestyle.
All four swimmers make up Bahrain’s national team competing at the worlds, where the Kingdom’s delegation includes administrator Wesam Al Tayeb and national coach Abdulla Shamsan.
The FINA Swimming World Cup 2022 in Berlin is the first of three legs of 25m competition.
The second leg will take place in Toronto, Canada from 28 to 30 October while the third leg will be held 3 to 5 November in Indianapolis, the US.
