Bahrain swimmers continue record-breaking performances

Bahrain’s national swimming team continued to set new national records and personal bests on the second day of the FINA Swimming World Cup 2022, being held in Berlin.

After setting a new national and individual bests on day one, Saud Salah continued his fine form with another Bahrain record.

Teammates Omar Al Rowaila, Fatima Almahmeed and Sanad Abdulla followed suit, each posting new personal records on day two.

The new marks were confirmed by the Bahrain Swimming Association.

For Salah, he set a new national record of 29.24 seconds in the 50 metres breaststroke.

His achievement added to his new Bahraini mark in the 100m breaststroke on the first day of competition.

Meanwhile, Al Rowaila had a new personal best of 51.35s in the 100m freestyle, while Fatima registered her individual mark with a 31.27s performance in the 50m butterfly.

Salah then had a pair of new personal bests, setting a time of 53.53s in the 100m freestyle and a 27.09s mark in the 50m backstroke.

All four swimmers are making up Bahrain’s national team competing at the worlds, where the Kingdom’s delegation includes administrator Wesam Al Tayeb and national coach Abdulla Shamsan.

The FINA Swimming World Cup 2022 in Berlin is the first of three legs of 25m competition.

The second leg will take place in Toronto, Canada from 28 to 30 October while the third leg will be held 3 to 5 November in Indianapolis, the US.
