Showstoppers clinch KPF’s Olympian Abdul Rahman Rolling Trophy

Showstoppers edged Al Keralawi by a decisive goal to win the Olympian Abdul Rahman Rolling Trophy football tournament organised by Kozhikode District Pravasi Forum (KPF).

Bahrain Indian Embassy Second Secretary Ravi Shankar Shukla kicked off the eightteam tournament under Bahrain Indian Football Association - BIFA at Hoora Al Theel Stadium on Thursday evening.

BMC-IMAC Chairman Francis Kaitarath, Social activist Syed Hanif, Pravasi Legal Cell Bahrain Coordinator Amaldev, Tournament Coordinator Jeri Joy and Anwar Nilambur were present.

On the last day, the title sponsor Naina Muhammad Shafi presented the prizes in a ceremony presided over by KPF President Sudheer Thirunilath.

In attendance were General Secretary Jayesh VK, Treasurer Sujith Soman, Vice Presidents Jamal Kuttikattil, Shaji Pudukkudy, Tournament Convener Savinesh, Joint Convener Shashi Akkaral, other executive committee members and Ladies Wing Conveners.

Patron UK Balan recorded the instructions and scores of referee Imad Ahmad. Commentator Shameer Ponnani provided commentary for all the eight matches.

The ladies’ wing’s food fest served up tasty Kozhikode dishes throughout the tournament.
