Bahrain Comic-Con off to a spectacular start

The third edition of the two-day Bahrain Comin Con, the biggest pop culture convention, kicked off in Bahrain yesterday under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa at the Bahrain International Circuit.

HH Shaikh Khalid, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the Authority General Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, said Bahrain Comic Con is one of the most popular events among young people.

“It’s an addition to the map of youth entertainment programmes in the Kingdom and brings diversity to the tourism events in the Kingdom. Shaikh Khalid also praised the cooperation between Dallah Company, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and others, calling it a reflection of the teamwork for progress and development.

Comic and cartoon character enthusiasts, and computer and board game connoisseurs warmed the event, which features guests from Hollywood Movie Studios to International Gaming Companies. Bahrain Comic Con this year is jam-packed with content that will excite attendees from all around the world.

The exhibition, which continues today, is one of the largest expos in the Arab World. It was a tremendous success in its two previous editions, attracting about 30,000 visitors. The exhibition hosts Hollywood stars, painters and exhibitors from Arab countries and beyond.

The guest line-up features some of the big names, including Paul Anderson, who plays the role of “Arthur… Shelby” in one of the most famous Netflix series (Peaky Blinders), and David Angelo, the official illustrator of the series “Peaky Blinders” Rick and Morty” cartoon.

The exhibition also has guests from Netflix, World Wrestling Entertainment, and global social media influencers. Several electronic games tournaments are at the exhibition, such as the "Valornet" and the "Counter-Strike" tournaments. A cosplay competition will have the participation of Gulf countries.

The exhibition will present many events, such as educational workshops in art, computer assembly, and cinema, with the support of local game makers and more. Restaurants, cafes and entertainment gamers are also participating in the exhibition, making the destination attractive for people of all ages.
