Bani Jamra made a winning start to their campaign in the 2022/2023 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League last night.

Bani Jamra defeated Al Shabab 3-1 (25-17, 25-15, 16-25, 25-21) in their group one fixture played at the Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA) Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

The BVA has implemented a new system for the 2022/2023 campaign.

All 14 clubs under the umbrella of the BVA will now feature in the league. For the first round of action, they will be divided into two groups.

Bani Jamra and Shabab are joined in group one by Al Ahli, Al Najma, Nabih Saleh, Ma’ameer and Etehad Al Reef.

Group two features Al Nasser, Dar Kulaib, Muharraq, A’ali, Tadhamon, Busaiteen and Al Dair.

In another group one clash, Nabih Saleh swept Ma’ameer 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 26-24).

Following a single round-robin, the top three from each division move on to compete in the round of six for the league title.

Action in this stage will feature two rounds, with the top four moving on to the Golden Square semi-finals.
