Najma outclass Ettihad in handball league

Al Najma outclassed Al Ettihad 33-25 last night in their week eight contest of the 2022/2023 Khalid bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League, currently being played at the Bahrain Handball Association Arena in Um Al Hassam.

Fresh off winning the Bahrain-UAE Handball Super Cup for a record fourth time in five editions last week, Najma continued to perform at a high level.

They held a comfortable 18-11 advantage at the half and never looked back. With the result, Najma claimed their league-leading seventh win as they remained undefeated in as many games.

They are the only team remaining in the league with a perfect record and top the table with 21 points. Chief title rivals Al Ahli also have zero losses, but they have one draw from their six contests so far.

They are tied-second with Al Shabab on 17 points. With their loss, Ettihad suffered their fifth defeat in seven games, to go with two wins. They are on 11 points in the bottom half of the standings.

League action continues tonight with Al Tadhamun facing Al Ettifaq at 5.30pm followed by Barbar taking on Shabab at 7.15pm. Tomorrow, Tubli face off with Bahrain Club in the early contest while Ahli take on Al Dair in the late fixture.
