Five-goal hero Sami Oudy sinks British School of Bahrain

British School of Bahrain crashed out of the Nasser bin Hamad Football Tournament for Secondary Schools after an unexpected 6-4 defeat at the hands of Bahrain Bayan School who were already out of contention for a berth in the quarterfinals.

The British School of Bahrain were the favourites to secure a win and seal the secure the second qualification berth of Group 4 after defeating Shaikh Abdulaziz Secondary School in the previous round.

Bahrain Bayan School’s Sami Oudy took the match by storm as he scored five incredible goals to give the full points to his team. The first half saw both teams exchanging goals as it ended 3-3, but Bayan School led 5-3 in the opening 20 minutes of the second half.

The British School of Bahrain managed to reduce the gap to one goal, but Sami Oudy found the net in the dying minutes to put the result beyond doubt. His goal celebration saw him receiving the second yellow card in the game, which denied him receiving the best player in the match award.

It went to his teammate Mohammed Al Rayes instead. In the other game in the same group, Al Jabriya Technical School and Shaikh Abdulaziz Secondary School played out a 3-3 thrilling game which saw Al Jabriya Technical School fumble the lead on three occasions, although Shaikh Abdulaziz Secondary School were the better side throughout the game and deserved to win it. Both of them qualified for the quarterfinals with Al Jabriya Technical School are the group leaders.
