Ali wins second stage of cycling tour

Hussain Mohammed Ali of Bike Zone team won the 155-kilometre second stage of the second Nasser bin Hamad Cycling Tour, which continued yesterday.
The leg started at Avenues Mall in Manama and concluded at Al Jazair Beach in Zallaq. Ali clinched first place following an outstanding performance.
He was followed by Abdullah Al Majed of Giant Team, while third place went to Bike Zone teammate Jassim Mohammed Hussain.
Ali kept the yellow jersey after clocking the best time, and he also earned the red jersey after amassing the highest number of points. The blue jersey (under-23 Bahraini winner) went to Jassim Mohammed Hussain, while also taking a jersey was Mohammed Ibrahim.
Moreover, Yasser Al Baluchi of the Dubai Police won the race at the GCC level, followed by Sa’ad Thani and Mazin Al Shuti respectively. The event is being held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, with more than 200 cyclists from Bahrain and around the world taking part.
The three-day event is organised by Bahrain Cycling Association in collaboration with Faalyat. Commenting on the event, HH Shaikh Nasser praised the wide participation showcased in the second stage, adding that the huge turnout reflects the enormous popularity of cycling in the Kingdom.
HH Shaikh Nasser congratulated the winning riders in the second stage and wished the other participants every success in the last stage of the tour, which will take place today.
