Olga Danilova from Cyprus set up an exciting title clash with May Fadida of Israel in the girls’ singles of the second Bahrain event on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour Juniors Calendar 2022.
Olga booked her place in the final following a hard-earned, come-from-behind 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 win against Laura Maser of Germany, while May upset top seed Tamara Ermakova 6-4, 6-0 to go through.
Meanwhile, in the boys’ singles final, Rashed Nawaf of Qatar will take on Yahan Zhang of China. Nawaf, the fourth seed, beat Seth Sadikov of Georgia 6-4, 6-3 in their last four clash. Zhang, on the other hand, ousted Nawaf’s brother Mashari 6-2, 6-0. Both finals are scheduled to be held today on the final day of competition at the Bahrain Tennis Federation courts in Isa Town.
The ongoing tournament is the second Bahrain ITF event being held in succession. It follows last week’s competition. Both are J5 level tournaments on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors Calendar 2022. A J4 ITF event will be hosted by Bahrain from Monday to 13 November.
