BRAVE Combat Federation and Shark Fit have formally partnered to manage BRAVE Gyms around the world, catered to mixed martial arts (MMA) athletes, starting with Bahrain.
BRAVE CF aims to train fighters from all corners of the globe and provide them with a true MMA athlete experience. Through this initiative, the athletes will acquire both the talents and the know-how of professional fighters.
An agreement was signed between BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid and Shark Fit managing partner and CEO Ahmed Mirza to set up the first BRAVE Gym in Bahrain.
Also present at the signing were Bahrain’s MMA superstar Hamza Kooheji and Noor Ahmed, BRAVE Gym’s first franchisee and the first franchisee of a female-only BRAVE gym.
This is part of BRAVE CF’s 2030 mission to create a “National EcoSystem”, which is based on the sports economy in the region.
Shahid commented: “We had the honour of meeting Shark Fit and setting up the first step.
“In order to spread the BRAVE brand throughout the world, this will be yet another major relationship that we have ever formed.
“We chose not to participate in the gym industry since we were only interested in the fighters’ talent development.
However, we now realise that athletes like Hamza Kooheji ought to serve as brand advocates for our youth.” Mirza added: “BRAVE gym is not just a gym, it’s more than a gym.
“It means you’re coming for a one-stop. This industry is the future of the world and the next era of MMA.”
The fitness industry had faced challenging times due to the pandemic, but now it is witnessing a resurgence across the Middle East.
Shark Fit intends to establish a global network of 100 gyms.
The first BRAVE Gym is to open in Riffa this year, with another two gyms targeted for next year.
