Bahrain head coach Helio Sousa last night called on the Kingdom’s senior men’s national football team to make the most of their international friendly match tonight against FIFA World Cup 2022 participants Canada.
The game is part of the Bahrainis’ preparations for their much-anticipated title-defence in the 25th Arab Cup, while the visiting Canadians are playing the first of their two final tune-ups before heading to Doha for the World Cup.
They also face off with Japan in Dubai next week. Bahrain’s tune-up game with Canada is scheduled for a 6.30pm kick-off at the Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town. All are invited to attend the contest.
Tickets are available at the gate at BD3 apiece for category one seats and BD1 for category two seating. VIP tickets have already sold out. In his pre-match Press conference yesterday, Sousa said that he hopes the team gets the most out of the match, which he says should be of a high technical level, which would thus raise the performance of the Bahrain players.
He said that the team is motivated to do well and that their preparations over the past couple of weeks have been good. Meanwhile, the official pre-match technical meeting was held yesterday with representatives from both national teams taking part.
Bahrain’s administration team head Abdulla Al Mutawa was on hand. At the meeting, the uniforms for both side were presented to match officials, with Bahrain wearing their red kit and Canada wearing white.
