Mr McCann lifts Bapco Cup

Mr McCann lifted the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) Cup yesterday in the eighth and feature race at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.
The Al Adiyat Racing horse, trained by AM Smith and saddled by Paul Hanagan, clinched first place in the seven-furlong, BD5,000 event after finishing in one minute 22.399.
Ecosystem came second for MKAR Racing, Haider Ebrahim and Andrea Atzeni; while third was Roman River competing for M and E Racing, AM Smith and Edinson Rodriguez.
Other winners of Bapco Cups from yesterday’s card were Campolina for Ebrahim Rashid Syndicate, Jaffar Radhi and Rosie Jessop in race six; Bond’s Boy for Al Mohamediya Racing, Osama Hashim and Liam Keniry in race five; Cape Horn for Victorious, AM Smith and Hussain Asghar in race four; Powertrain for Al Adiyat Racing, AM Smith and Paul Hanagan in race three; and Stylish for Victorious, AM Smith and Ali Sabri in race two.
The Bahrain Olympic Committee Cup in race one was claimed by Al Saqlawy 1807 for Al Riffa, Yousif Alboainain and Abdulla Faisal. The day’s other event, race seven, was won by Hareb Almalki-trained Apres Dark, ridden by Ebrahim Nader and owned by HBR Racing.
