Grigadale lifts House ME Cup in feature race at REHC

Grigadale won the House ME Cup in the feature race yesterday at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir. REHC hosted back-to-back events over the weekend and yesterday’s action featured eight races.

Grigadale won the eight-furlong, BD5,000 event in one minute 35.729 seconds for owners Al Mohamediya Racing and trainer Abbas Al Mawali, with Liam Keniry in the saddle.

Purgatory finished second for Naser Ali Naser Almoamen, Ali Nasser and Stephane Ladjadj, while Alabrar came third representing Al Sairafi Syndicate, Osama Hashim and Robert Tart. There were six other House ME Cups up for grabs on yesterday’s card.

In race six, Law of One triumphed for Al Afoo Racing, Mohammed Hasan and Jerome Moutard; Mediterranean Moon won in race five for M and E Racing, AM Smith and Edinson Rodriguez; race four was claimed by Fighter Pilot for Esnaad Racing, Hesham Al Haddad and Stephane Ladjadj; Jamais Assez triumphed in race three for Al Mallah Syndicate, Abduljaleel Al Mallah and Andrew Breslin; Safwa won race two for His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Ebrahim Nader; and Kuheilat Al Adiyat 1782 triumphed for Victorious, Yousif Taher and Husain Makki in race one.

Also yesterday, Van Halen clinched first place in the seventh race for the Late S Sharaf Al Alawi Cup. Van Halen was competing for owners Al Adiyat Racing and trainer AM Smith, and was ridden by Paul Hanagan.
