Bahrain seventh in Neom Beach Soccer cup

Bahrain finished seventh overall in the Neom Beach Soccer Cup 2022 in Neom, Saudi Arabia, after defeating the hosts 2-1 in their tournament-ending classification contest.
The Bahrainis were on target in the first and second periods, while conceding their goal to the Saudis in the opening frame.
The result was the national beach soccer team’s only win in the eight-nation tournament.
They had also lost to powerhouses Brazil, Japan and Oman in their group stage fixtures.
The Brazilians were crowned champions, while Paraguay clinched the silver medals.
Oman won the bronze, while the UAE were fourth, Japan fifth and England sixth.
