Muharraq power past Tadhamun in volleyball league

Muharraq stormed to another big victory last night in the 2022/2023 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League. The title contenders swept past Al Tadhamun 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-19) in their week five clash to improve to 12 points on the Group Two standings and raise their chances of advancing to the ensuing round-of-six.

Nigerian professional Samuel Anthony Ogwuche was Muharraq’s top scorer in yesterday’s game with 18 points, while Hassan Al Haddad added 11 and Hussain Khalifa 10 points. Also making key contributions for the victors were Mahmood Al Afia, Mahmood Ali and Abbas Ali, amongst others.

Meanwhile, in another week five contest, Al Nasser battled back from a set down to defeat A’ali 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25- 19), also in Group Two. Nasser posted their fourth win in this stage of the league. The other teams in their division are Al Dair, Busaiteen and Dar Kulaib; while Group One features Bani Jamra, Al Shabab, Al Ahli, Al Najma, Nabih Saleh, Ma’ameer and Etehad Al Reef.
