Bahraini-British motor racing team 2 Seas Motorsport spearhead a full grid of 34 entries in the Gulf 12 Hours endurance race, taking place Friday to Sunday at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
Organisers confirmed yesterday the final entry list of participants that will line up for the famed GT event, which will be marking its 11th edition this year.
2 Seas, the race’s two-time defending champions, will be among a record number of 30 GT3 cars that will be competing around the 5.281km circuit.
The four others are GT Cup cars. Six global supercar brands featuring drivers from 25 different nations are in the fray.
This weekend’s event will boast a new-look race format, with a continuous 12-hour race being run for the first time in its history, rather than being split into two six-hour parts as has previously been held.
On Friday, Open Practice will be held followed by Qualifying on Saturday.
The 12-hour race will then take place Saturday, starting from 10am.
Bahrain’s His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, co-owner of 2 Seas, will be competing in the Pro-Am class alongside Martin Kodric and Hunter Abbott.
The race’s overall winners from the past two years will be sharing the duties in their MercedesAMG GT3 car.
2 Seas will have another car on track, to be driven by the triumvirate of Lewis Williamson, Aaron Walker and James Cottingham.
