2 Seas Motorsport partners with GFH

Bahraini-British racing team 2 Seas Motorsport announced yesterday a new partnership with GFH Financial Group (GFH). The agreement was signed between 2 Seas co-owner and driver His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa and GFH Group CEO and board member Hisham Alrayes.

The relationship will include branding on the team’s #1 Mercedes-AMG GT3, as reigning back-to-back Gulf 12 Hours champions HH Shaikh Isa and Martin Kodric, along with new teammate Hunter Abbott, attempt to secure a further title in the popular endurance race, taking place over the weekend at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on the partnership, HH Shaikh Isa, co-owner of 2 Seas, said: “It is a real honour to welcome GFH Financial Group to the 2 Seas Motorsport family, and I am particularly proud to announce this partnership with such a strong Bahraini brand.

“We proudly race under the Bahrain flag, and we are working hard within motorsport to take on the world’s best and showcase the country on a global scale-very similar to how GFH has been operating for the past 20 years, operating in fiercely competitive markets, and being recognised on a global scale.

“I am also extremely pleased to confirm this new relationship with GFH ahead of returning to race in the GCC. We have had some strong results over the past couple of years, and it is really exciting to head back to the Gulf 12 Hours as double champions, looking for another strong showing.”

The team said that the new partnership comes after GFH has followed HH Shaikh Isa’s progress in motorsport from a young age, which saw him initially competing domestically and within the GCC region.

He has now advanced to racing in GT3 competition on a global level, setting up his own team, and winning the Gulf 12 Hours event for the past two years as a team owner and driver, proudly flying the flag and representing Bahrain.

In this weekend’s Gulf 12 Hours, 2 Seas will today get on track for multiple open practice sessions, to be followed by free practice and qualifying tomorrow, and the 12-hour race starting at 10am on Sunday. 2 Seas have two cars in the fray, with HH Shaikh Isa, Kodric and Abbott in the #1 Mercedes AMG GT3 car joined by teammates Lewis Williamson, James Cottingham and Aaron Walker in their #51 challenger.
