Shabab overpower Ma’ameer in volleyball league

Al Shabab defeated Ma’ameer 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) last night in their week seven clash of the 2022/2023 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.
The result earned Shabab only their second win in six matches as they concluded the first round of play in the bottom half of Group One.
Ma’ameer suffered their fifth loss and claimed sixth place from the seven clubs in their division.
In another Group One match, Bani Jamra defeated Etehad Al Reef 3-0 (25-10, 25- 20, 25-21).
The win was the third for Bani Jamra in the league’s opening stage as they finished in fourth place.
Etehad Al Reef lost their sixth successive game and ended the round winless.
The other teams in Group One are Al Najma, Al Ahli and Nabih Saleh, all of whom are set to go through to the round of six to contend for the league title.
Group Two consists of Muharraq, Al Dair, Al Nasser, Al Tadhamun, Busaiteen, A’ali and Dar Kulaib.
Following the ongoing single round-robin, the top three from each division move on to compete in the round of six for the league crown.
Action in this stage will feature two rounds, with the top four moving on to the Golden Square semi-finals.
