Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is set to host back-toback days of track activities this weekend for both the fitness buffs and motoring enthusiasts to enjoy.
Taking place Friday at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” is the Batelco Fitness on Track, while on Saturday the circuit will go live for the Orange Media Open Track.
Batelco Fitness on Track will be taking place from 6am to 10am on Friday, so members of the public can get an early start to the Christmas weekend and enjoy a workout with family and friends.
The activity can be done either on foot or on a bicycle within the unique setting of a world-class motorsport facility.
As in every Batelco Fitness on Track, the turnout is tremendous, with individuals and groups of all ages taking part.
Those interested in participating are therefore advised to book online in advance on BIC’s official website bahraingp.com or by calling the BIC Hotline on +973-17450000.
All who register must pay upon booking.
The cost to take part is BD2 for cyclists and BD1 for runners. Those under the age of 12 can participate for free if accompanied by a paying adult.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s Orange Media Open Track will be taking place between 12noon and 7pm.
Participants will be able to explore their car or motorbike’s limits within a safe and controlled environment and in a non-competitive setting, while enjoying the transition from morning to night conditions.
The activity will take place along BIC’s 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix circuit, the same raced on in the annual Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Those interested in taking part can book in advance for BD82.500 for the full day’s experience, BD55 for the half day and BD22 for a single session.
On the day itself, the full day’s price is BD93.500, the half-day cost is BD66, and the single session is BD27.500. There are extras available for all participants at the venue.
At every Orange Media Open Track event, driver etiquette is of ultimate importance, so there is no close or aggressive overtaking permitted.
Overtaking is by invitation only between corners and the driving is monitored, with poor or dangerous driving being dealt with swiftly by officials.
