Bahrain Club, Sitra win in football league

Bahrain Club and Sitra were both victorious last night in their week eight games of the 2022/2023 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League.
Bahrain Club upset heavily favoured Al Ahli 2-1, while Sitra outclassed Al Shabab 2-0.
In Bahrain Club’s win, they opened their account in the 53rd minute after a low pass by Mohammed Al Qashai towards goal was deflected into the net by Ahli’s Abdulla Al Araibi.
The victors then made it 2-0 in the 81st minute, when Joel Vinicius Silva Dos Anjos scored from close range following a brilliant counterattack.
The assist was supplied by Jair Vinicius Alves De Brito.
A minute later, Bahrain Club goalkeeper Yousef Habib Hassan made a brilliant save on a penalty kick by substitute Abdulla Al Hashash, but Ahli were still able to get on the scoresheet with a lone consolation in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time when Artem Serdyuk found the net.
Bahrain Club claimed their second win and improved to nine points, while Ahli lost for the third time and stayed on 11 points.
Meanwhile, in Sitra’s triumph, Mishaal Al Shammari was the first to score in the 65th minute from the penalty spot.
Then, Othman Yahya Al Hajj netted their second from an acute angle inside the six-yard box with just six minutes to go before the end of regular time.
Sitra claimed their second win in eight matches and improved to 10 points, while Shabab suffered their fifth loss and stayed on seven markers.
