Bahrain stay 85th on FIFA World Ranking

Bahrain did not rise or fall in the latest edition of the FIFA World Ranking, released yesterday by FIFA. The senior men’s national football team remained in 85th position with 1,280.27 total ranking points.
The newest classification was the first issued by the sport’s global governing body since the completion of the FIFA World Cup 2022 last week. Bahrain stayed 13th in the Asian Football Confederation and fifth amongst GCC teams, behind Saudi Arabia (49th), Qatar (60th), the UAE (70th) and Oman (75th), and ahead only of Kuwait (148th).
Japan are the top team in Asia in 20th, followed by Iran in 24th, South Korea in 25th and Australia in 27th. Brazil are ranked first ahead of World Cup champions Argentina, followed by France, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Portugal and Spain in the top 10.
