Rebel At Dawn lifts Montreal Motors Cup at REHC

Rebel At Dawn lifted the Montreal Motors Co SPC Cup in the feature event yesterday at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.

Paul Hanagan saddled the Al Adiyat Racing contender to victory in the five-furlong event, winning in one minute 02.799 seconds to claim the lion’s share of the BD3,000 prize.

Teenar was the runner-up for Al Mohamediya Racing, Hussain Aldailami and Liam Keniry, while Wowzers was third for Al Mohamediya, Hesham Al Haddad and Neil Callan.

Another Montreal Motors Co SPC Cup was on offer yesterday in the second of the day’s nine races.

It was claimed by Black Shadow, competing for M and E Racing, AM Smith and Edinson Rodriguez, finishing the eight-furlong event in 1:45.602.

Sakhir Cyclone was second, also for M and E and Smith, with Andrew Breslin in the saddle, while Sinatra came third for L & L Racing, Smith and Guido Casanova.

The other trophy on yesterday’s card was the REHC Cup, won by Glen Savage over 14 furlongs with a BD2,000 total prize.

The M and E Racing, Smith contender powered to first place in 3:14.480 ridden by Edinson Rodriguez.

Tartan Chief was the runner-up for Al Mohamediya, Ali Abdulmajeed and Callan, while Benmalek was third for Hasan Mefareh Alajmi, Yousif Taher and Anas Al Siyabi.

Others to triumph from yesterday’s races were Tuwaisan 1844 in the first race for Al Riffa, Yousif Alboainain and Abdulla Faisal; Zeeshaan in race three for Ali Husain Ali Jasim Hammad, Basem Mahdi and Marcialis Jaures; Wiretap in race four for RM Racing, Hareb Almalki and Ebrahim Nader; Gumais in the fifth race for Al Mohamediya, Hesham Al Haddad and Neil Callan; Knight of Honour in race six for Al Mohamediya, Richard Fahey and Callan; and The Ghost Ship for Victorious, AM Smith and Paul Hanagan in race eight.
