Al Rumaihi wins HH Shaikh Khalid ride

Al Zaeem and Victorious dominated the 120km local race of the HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Championship, held yesterday at Bahrain International Endurance Village in Sakhir.
Zaeem’s Mayoof Al Rumaihi secured first place after clocking a time of five hours, 35 minutes and 33 seconds for the win.
The race was followed up and held in the presence of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Honourary President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF).
It took place under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of both the General Sports Authority and Bahrain Olympic Committee.
The event featured wide participation and included various local and international races covering different distances, including 120km, 160km and 100km. HH Shaikh Nasser was keen to follow all the stages of the races, providing the participants with valuable tips. Al Rumaihi was followed by Othman Al Awadhi and Manal Fakhrawi, both of whom represented Victorious, respectively.
Meanwhile, Al Nasser Team’s Hamad Ali Hassan posted a time of 5:37:52 to win the 120km international race.
He was joined on the podium by his teammates Rashid Jamal and Yousif Al Jabouri.
On the other hand, Kawthar Ali Taqawi of the KHK Team finished first in the 100km international race after crossing the finish line in 5:01:30.
Second place in this competition went to Hussain Mohammed of the N13 team, while Mohammed Wael of Victorious came third.
Additionally, Aseel Jamal of Al Fursan Team won the 80km local qualifying race, and Mohammed Mubarak triumphed at the 40km local qualifying race.
Commenting on this, HH Shaikh Nasser said that the HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Endurance Championship carries huge importance for all the jockeys and stables, especially amid the great preparations that the participants undergo ahead of the event.
HH Shaikh Nasser explained that the performances showcased throughout the races underscore the keenness of the participants to double their efforts in order to achieve positive results.
Furthermore, HH Shaikh Nasser applauded the efforts of BREE to organise the Championship.
