Manama pull away late in win over Isa Town

Defending champions Manama outclassed Isa Town 95-74 last night in their week 17 contest of the 2022/2023 Zain Bahrain Basketball League.
After Isa Town stayed within striking distance for much of the game, Manama pulled away in the final canto where they outscored their opponents 25-13.
Their biggest lead of the game was 25, which came midway through the fourth following an Ali Hussain three-pointer. Hussain and younger brother Mustafa combined for 43 points for the victors.
Mustafa top scored with 23, which included five three-pointers, while Ali also took down 10 rebounds. American professional Elijah Robinson added 18 markers.
Oumar Barry paced Isa Town in the loss with 24 while Hussain Mahdi chipped in with 14. With the result, the league leaders claimed their 13th triumph to go with two losses for first place on the standings.
Isa Town suffered their 14th loss to go with just a single victory.
In another week 17 contest, Al Ahli edged past Al Ettihad 89-85. Mohammed Qurban buried the go-ahead lay-up with just over a minute remaining to break an 85-all deadlock and then Hesham Sarhan pegged the final score for Ahli.
Lenny Daniel scored 22 points to pace the winners while Qurban added 17 off the bench. Adrian Uter top scored for Ettihad with 22.
Ahli won their 12th game to go with three defeats while Ettihad lost their fifth to go with 10 wins. League action continues tonight with the final game of the week between Al Hala and Nuwaidrat, scheduled for a 6pm tip-off.
