Harbour Spirit, Mudallal win Bahrain Jewellery Centre Cups at REHC

Harbour Spirit lifted the Bahrain Jewellery Centre Cup in the feature event yesterday at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.
Competing for owners Ramadhan Stable and trainer Jaber Ramadhan, jockey Anas Al Siyabi saddled the seven-year-old gelding to victory in one minute 49.392 seconds over nine furlongs, to claim the lion’s share of the BD3,000 total prize.
Prince Elzaam was the runner-up for Al Mohamediya Racing, Taleb Ali and Liam Keniry, while Coolagh Forest was third for MKAR Racing, Abduljaleel Al Mallah and Andrea Atzeni.
Mean while , Mudallal clinched the other Bahrain Jewellery Centre Cup on yesterday’s eight-race card.
Taking the seventh and penultimate event, Neil Callan rode the four-year-old to the win over eight-furlongs in a time of 1:35.551, taking the biggest portion of the BD3,000 prize for Al Mohamediya Racing and Hesham Al Haddad.
Taaris followed in second for Abdulla Fawzi Nass, Al Haddad and Husain Makki, while Taufan was third for HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Abdulla Faisal.
Also yesterday, Goemon and Devaste won the two Porsche Cups. Goemon triumphed for MKAR Racing, Haider Ebrahim and Andrea Atzeni; while Devaste claimed first place for the Mohamediya-Al Haddad-Callan triumvirate.
In the day’s first race, the Fatees Al Hajeri Cup was won by Al Krush 1823 for Al Sakhir, Jaffar Marzooq and Ebrahim Nader.
Other winners yesterday were Inveigle for Gunners Racing, AM Smith and Edinson Rodriguez; Erada for MKAR Racing, Haider Ebrahim and Andrea Atzeni; and Andante for Victorious, AM Smith and Hussain Asghar.
