Muharraq edge past Nabih Saleh in five sets

Muharraq battled past Nabih Saleh in a thrilling five-setter last night in the fifth week of play in the roundof-six of the 2022/2023 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.

The game was played at Isa bin Rashid Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa.

After giving the first set by just two points, Muharraq battled back to take a 2-1 lead, but Nabih Saleh continued to fight and were able to force the tiebreak.

There, Muharraq took a quick 5-0 advantage but their opponents managed to stay within striking distance.

The victors were eventually able to close things out with a hard-earned 3-2 (24-26, 30-28, 25-14, 22-25, 15-12) score line.

Spearheading Muharraq were Nigerian professional Samuel Anthony Ogwuche and teammates Hussain Khalifa, Hassan Al Haddad, Abbas Ehsan and Sayed Ali Mohammed, among others.

Nabih Saleh relied on the play of Hussain Ashoor, Sayed Hashem, Jaafar Radhi and Kenyan professional Peter Camara.

Muharraq captured only their second win in five games while Nabih Saleh remained winless after their five contests.
