Bahrain’s Al Nasser gearing up for Arab clubs volleyball

Bahrain’s Al Nasser will be flying the Kingdom’s flag in this year’s Arab Clubs Volleyball Championship, scheduled to take place in Cairo later this month.

The Bahrainis are one of 14 teams from across the region taking part in the tournament, which gets underway on 18 February and continues until 3 March.

The others taking part are Al Ahli SC and Al Wakrah SC of Qatar, Al Ahly Tripoli SC and Asswehly SC of Libya, Al Sadaqa VC of Palestine, Al Seeb of Oman, Almeena VC of Yemen, Baniyas VC of the UAE, Kazma SC and Kuwait SC of Kuwait, Masafi Alshemal of Iraq, and home sides Zamalek SC and Al Ahly SC.

Nasser have been preparing for the tournament over the past few weeks.

During one of their training sessions, Bahrain Olympic Committee vice-president His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa visited the team.

He was accompanied by Bahrain Volleyball Association secretary general Feras Al Helwachi and they were welcomed by Nasser president Abdulameer Attia and a number of board members.

Coached by Brazilian Sergio Luis Cunha, Nasser’s lineup boasts top players such as Ebrahim Mohammed, Yousif Ali, Mohammed Omar, Ali Sultan, Mohammed Abdulla, Ahmed Isa, Hussain Mahdi and Jassim Turki, to name a few.
