Arena Sport, the leading company in the field of sports media in Serbia and the Balkans and the largest source of sports content in Europe, honoured His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), during the international BRAVE Serbia week.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa was awarded the Positive Impact Award in Mixed Martial Arts as a gesture of appreciation for the efforts made by His Highness to promote the MMA scene in Europe and beyond since the establishment of the fighting organization (BRAVE) under the vision of His Highness in September 2016.

His Highness was granted the award thanks to his vision of achieving a qualitative transformation in this sport in Europe.

His Highness’ vision led to the launch of the BRAVE CF Championship outside the borders of the Kingdom of Bahrain, reaching Europe, and making Serbia the capital of martial arts sports in Europe.

Serbian Minister of Sports Zoran Gajic announced his country’s official recognition of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) as a sport, a step that will benefit thousands of athletes participating in this sport in the country.

With the organization of the International Fighting Week (BRAVE Serbia) under the vision of His Highness, Serbia played a leading role in the development of MMA in Europe, which was praised by the Serbian government.

Through His Highness’ numerous initiatives in the field of combat sports, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has globalized MMA sport and provided opportunities for thousands of athletes, coaches, officials and administrators in the seven years since the launch of (BRAVE CF).

His Highness has overcome several barriers and took the BRAVE Combat Federation to the top of the world’s most popular MMA show after Germany becoming the 28th country to host a BRAVE CF event last year, a feat that had been unattainable by any other organization in the same period of time.
