Najma barge into handball league final

Three-time defending champions Al Najma barged into the final of the 2022/2023 Khalid bin Hamad Bahrain Handball League last night following a come-from-behind 28-26 win over Al Ettifaq in the second game of their Golden Square semi-final series.
After winning game one 30- 28, Najma were determined to close out this best-of-three match-up and be the first team to punch their tickets to the title-deciding clash.
They trailed 12-15 at the half, but then it didn’t take long for them to roar back into the contest.
A Qassim Qambar goal tied it at 17-apiece six minutes into the second half, and then Najma went ahead by as many as four.
Ettifaq, however, valiantly stayed close and managed to tie the proceedings once more at 25-all with under seven minutes to play.
The deadlock was then broken by Sayed Ali Bassim, whose goal gave Najma the lead for good, before conversions from Mohammed Mirza and Adel Mohammed sealed the game for the victors.
