HH Shaikh Nasser to lead Royal Team in Abu Dhabi

Captained by His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Endurance Team captain, will participate today in the 160-kilometre ride of the FEI Endurance World Championship.

A total of 126 jockeys from 36 countries will take part in the event, set to be hosted by Butheeb International Endurance Village in Abu Dhabi.

HH Shaikh Nasser attended the veterinary examination yesterday and led the final training ahead of the event, in the presence of the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Vice-President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club and SCYS member, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa; and the SCYS Secretary-General, Ayman Al-Moayed.

On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser asserted that the FEI Endurance World Championship provides a new opportunity for the Royal Endurance Team to attain distinguished results, noting that the team enjoys the constant interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the unwavering support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which have enabled Bahrain’s endurance sport to achieve positive results at the world and European levels recently.
