Instinctive Move, The Covex Kid lift NBB Cups

Instinctive Move and The Covex Kid lifted the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) Cups yesterday in the main races at Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir.
Instinctive Move won race seven, held over a six-furlong straight with a BD5,000 total prize, while The Covex Kid triumphed in the nine-furlong, BD4,000 eighth and final race of the day.
Both events were for imported horses, and they headlined a total of seven NBB Cups that were up for the taking yesterday at REHC.
In the seventh race, Instinctive Move completed the distance in one minute 10.581 seconds for owners Al Adiyat Racing and trainer AM Smith, saddled by jockey Gerald Mosse.
Finishing in second place was Fighter Pilot for Esnaad Racing, Hesham Al Haddad and Marcialis Jaures, while in third came Wowzers for Al Mohamediya Racing, Hesham Al Haddad and Liam Keniry.
In race eight, The Covex Kid clinched first place in 1:47.802 for Al Mohamediya Racing, Hesham Al Haddad and Neil Callan.
Paxos was the runner-up for Al Afoo Racing, Mohammed Hasan and Soufiane Saadi, while Coolagh Forest came third for MKAR Racing, Abduljaleel Al Mallah and Abdulla Faisal.
Meanwhile, Speed Chance won the NBB Cup in race five over seven furlongs for Husain Habib Aljaboori, Osama Hashim and Marcialis Jaures; Sabha won the NBB Cup in the seven-furlong fourth race for HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Abdulla Faisal; and Khawafy triumphed in the nine-furlong race three to lift the NBB Cup for Feras Sami Hashem Al Meshqab, Osama Hashim and Salem Alajmi. Gharbiya claimed the NBB Cup in the day’s second race, over five furlongs, for HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, Haider Ebrahim and Abdulla Faisal; while Obeyan 1867 lifted the NBB Cup in the day’s first race for Al Wasmiya, Abdulla Kuwaiti and Hasan Al Saffar.
Elsewhere yesterday, Noble Mark won the imported sixth race of the day, held over 12 furlongs, for owners Al Mohamediya Racing and trainer Reyadh Ahmed, while saddled by Neil Callan.
