World of entertainment awaits race-goers all through the day at Bahrain International Circuit

The off-track entertainment programme and non-stop excitement continues today at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) with the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023 in full swing.  

Fans attending today's events will be able to enjoy the continuation of a series of interviews featuring F1’s star drivers and a number of select F1 team principals, F1 legends and current F1 reserve drivers.

The first group of interviewees shared their thoughts yesterday in front of the huge group of fans who flocked to BIC. Among them were Alfa Romeo drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, the Aston Martin pair of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, Williams’s Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant, AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries, popular Haas team principal Guenther Steiner and Alpine team boss Otmar Szafnauer.

The question-and-answer sessions are being conducted on the main stage of the BIC vending area at different points throughout the day. Today, the Haas tandem of Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg will be the first to be interviewed from 11.35am to 11.45am.

Alpine’s Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon will then take centre stage from 11.45am to 11.55am, and then Red Bull’s double world champion Max Verstappen will be joined by teammate Sergio Perez for their interview from 12.05pm to 12.15pm.

From 12.35pm to 12.45pm, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will be on stage, and then Mercedes’s Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will take the limelight from 1pm to 1.10pm. From 3.35pm to 3.45pm, Aston Martin and McLaren reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne will be doing his interview.

He will be followed by a pair of popular F1 legends, namely Felipe Massa from 5.15pm to 5.25pm, and two-time F1 world champion Mika Hakkinen from 5.25pm to 5.35pm. Alfa Romeo reserve driver and Formula 2 standout Theo Pourchaire will wrap up the Saturday interviews from 7.15pm to 7.25pm.

The interviews are among the loads of attractions that can be enjoyed off the track all weekend at BIC. The wide array of colourful family entertainment on hand includes roaming acts and musicians from all across the globe, kids’ attractions including stage shows of classical tales, a giant Ferris Wheel, The Beast inflatable obstacle course, a spooky Haunted House, and an F1 Fanzone with all kinds of F1-related activities including Esports.

Craig David set to perform TS5 Set in concert tonight

Fans will also be treated to the second concert of this year’s F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix tonight, featuring Grammy-nominated artist Craig David, who will be entertaining fans with his incredible TS5 DJ set.

David follows last night’s hugely successful show of DJ Snake, who played his hits for all in attendance to enjoy. All those with tickets to this race weekend will be able to enjoy the concert at no extra cost.

It is scheduled to start at 8.30pm. Craig David has released a number of platinum-selling albums and singles that have topped the charts in countries around the world. He has worked with and written songs for fellow stars such as Sting, Bastille, Muni Long, KSI and Justin Bieber.

He has performed his legendary TS5 DJ set to crowds all over the world, including on the world-famous Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury to over 100,000 people, as well as selling out multiple dates at the O2 Arena in London.
