Mini takes pole for F3 Feature Race

Gabriele Mini of Hitech Pulse-Eight grabbed pole position yesterday for the season-opening Feature Race of the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship, set to take place tomorrow at the F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2023.
Josep Maria Marti of Campos Racing, meanwhile, will start at the front of the grid for the F3 Sprint Race, taking place today.
Mini captured his leading grid slot after finishing F3 qualifying yesterday at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in first place with a fastest lap of one minute 47.055 seconds.
Gabriel Bortoleto of Trident followed in second on the timesheet with a lap of 1:47.112, while Gregoire Saucy of ART Grand Prix came third on a lap of 1:47.166.
Marti will start in pole for the Sprint following F3’s reverse grid rule.
He finished qualifying in 12th place with a best lap of 1:47.391 amongst the field of 30 cars.
Today’s F3 Sprint Race is scheduled for a 12.15pm start.
It will be over 19 laps or 40 minutes. Earlier in the day yesterday, Bortoleto set the quickest time in the season-opening F3 practice session.
He had a top mark of 1:47.775, marginally beating out Mini by 0.072s.
