Harry King continues dominant weekend in Porsche sprints

Harry King of Great Britain continued his dominance of round five in the 2022/2023 Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East, winning the weekend’s first race last night at Bahrain International Circuit, in support of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
King triumphed from pole position after 11 laps to maintain his perfect run in the meeting so far.
He had set the pace in both practices and also claimed a double pole for the two races.
He won tonight’s event under the lights with an 8.624 second gap ahead of runner-up Vincent Andronaco of Germany, while Ghislain Cordeel of Belgium took the final podium step 16.980s adrift.
All three overall podium-placers were competing in the Pro class. Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa clinched first place in the ProAm category after taking fifth overall.
Mark J Thomas of Canada claimed first place in the Am class.
The Porsche field return for race two on Sunday starting at 2.50pm.
King will once again be in pole position, having set a lap of 2:01.812 for his second-best in qualifying, earning him his leading grid place.
